Default Lightning vs Kings

10:30 ET puck drop in Staples.

second matchup with Kings in 10 days. They took their cue in Amalie and have not lost since that Feb 7 meeting. Ben replaced early, will he get a shot at revenge or is Vasi gonna get the start and play like he owns the Kings.

Stamkos has never scored a goal in Staples, gotta hurt his trade value right

Quick is 4-1-0 and 1.34 GAA .949 save % against Lightning.

Given that we are not a good match against Kings (losing 5 of last 6), now would be a good time to keep the Coop goal of 1.3 pts per game on the road in perspective and take 1 point and be grateful, ecstatic for two.

Hope Paquette keeps his head up tonight. I have a feeling the Kings will come after him for giving Martinez a concussion in their last game. Should be a good game.

I thought Stamkos had that last shot in the net. Damn. We played well for being out west and in a back-to-back.

Default I think I would now consider 7 dmen per night

no way Morrow makes a lick of difference in any game. If a perfect referee is never noticed, then Brendan has his next job lined up. Took note of one scrum he had with sticks up and otherwise was MIA as usual. I'd like to have Barberio for rest and recovery as needed like tonight on the Witkowski injury. Sustr played better than usual, but out Sustred himself with that split he took on the Kopitar goal.

Stammer has still never scored a goal at Staples or United Center. Had his chance with last shot tonight, set up well and he had time to lock and load.

What do you expect? 5-game road trip, back-back against very good west teams, late start, hitting were stacked against us. I think they played well enough to get a point, but costly mistakes and the back-back drained all the energy for the 3rd period. I am not throwing in the towel on Sustr but why are you covering the guy on the boards and letting Kopitar stroll by you for a breakaway?

We need powerplay help and we need it now. It is so dismal and so anti-climatic.

I really thought they were going to pull it out in the final seconds.

Boy it's tough to beat that final minute with the goalie pulled, when they come down like a hailstorm on that net. The battle of wills, the claw marks on the hockey, the most exciting sport ever invented

Stamkos's pass coming from the point was a little forward of where he likes it because it had to dodge a stick, making it hard for him to get the usual placement and velocity. Rough break...he got down on one knee and proposed to score, but got turned down quick
