This is a good thing. It might take some re-learning under the 20-man roster philosophy that included guys like Karlsson, Darche, and MacDonald. But have a choices among NHL-quality depth is very good.

But can we move to strike Andrea Karlsson's name forever? Call him The Unmentionable. Just seeing his name conjurs too-painful memories.

Naw, I would confuse him with the likes of Dan Kesa, Ian Herbers, and Stan Guolla

That's right. Six different goalies and over 45 skaters on the team that season. Thank you Rick Dudley.

How did you know that? I have the notes from Dudley that year.

Dan Cloutier - Nope (Trade for Aucoin then Biron will be mine!)
Zac Bierk - I don't think so (Zak attack - some marketing possibilities)
Kevin Hodson - Maybe not
Rich Parent - Too early to tell
Daren Puppa - Last name says it all
Dieter Kochan - A KEEPER

I've never felt so sorry for a kid in an NHL game as I did for Kochan against the Stars his first game.

The day before he was with the B.C. Icemen of the UHL... then he was squaring up to Mike Modano coming down his off-wing... easy wrister into the far side of the net.

Poor kid. His face was white and his eyes wide.

I believe I was at that game. I remember the Lap Dog talking about how this guy could be the next star on the way in. You are right, he had no chance.
