Part of the reason Girardi's numbers were so bad the past couple years was because he was playing above his current ability and was getting top pair ice time. He isn't a top pair defenseman and the bolts realize that. He should be effective enough as a 15-17 minute guy that plays on the PK.

Agreed BTO Girardi is playing much better than I expected. But they are being careful with his IT which gives him time to rest. I hope Slater gets more time he has earned it and Sustr gets traded.

Couldn't agree more. Girardi has been better than expected. While I would prefer Kooks get some meaningful ice time, the D was much improved. Helps that Sustr was a scratch.
