Not upset at all about this game specifically. Philly is a really good team. The decades (yes, decades) of jokes about the Flyers being a black hole for goaltenders might finally be over.

I'm still trying to figure out why JBB spent three first-round picks on a couple of decent third liners, but I don't think I'll ever get it.

No obvious softies from Vasy tonight, which is a good sign.

Per Cooper in the post-game, Jan Rutta is also injured -- was not a healthy scratch against the Flyers.

I'm guessing it's a high ankle sprain, which means he won't be 100% the rest of these playoffs and they just need to try to win as many games as possible any way they can to buy him time to heal. High ankle sprain or some kind of hairline fracture.

I wonder what we do with the defensive pairs? Maybe something like this?

McDonagh-Bogosian
Sergachev-Shattenkirk
Coburn-Cernak

At least he walked off the ice under his own power, and had the ability and willingness to load and unload the knee joint with repeated torque stresses while chopping the glass, so that's better than...not.

Having watched the mechanism of injury a couple times I'm hoping for just a super low-grade MCL strain, meaning only a few microtears of outer fibers, which hurts but would mean an earlier return than a higher-grade strain or if the medial meniscus and/or ACL are involved.

Default Cryers

Yes the cryers played a well coached game against us and took away our normal game plan of going to the outside. Plus our sloppy passes and inability to adjust to what they were doing made us vulnerable. When we got into their zone there were two guys standing in front of their goalie but our guys did not crash their net, of course when Coleman did he got the penalty and not the cryers for their rough stuff. Honestly, I really felt we got out coached last night.

Hedman has a bit of a temper (remember him getting penalties for protesting icing calls too harshly?), so hopefully he was just overreacting to a minor injury.
