Love the AAV but hate the term length. McDonagh plays way too physical of a game to think he's going to be just as effective in his mid 30's.

Yeah, probably 3 years too long.

Got to think this confirms that Sergachev is moving to the right side. Guess we are going to be relying on our young, cheap defensemen after this season to fill the open slots.

Yeah, too long. If 7 years the average cap hit should been lower. Doesnít start until after next season and heís 30.

Guess the Erik Karlsson dreams can end now.

Another brutal contract by Yzerman. He is obsessed with signing big deals for guys he trades for. This looks like a buy out waiting to happen in a few years because he is already declining

Default Yep

Too long for a guy like McD. Money is right but not the length, it is 3 years too long...I see a buyout coming in 4 years...or he ends up like another D we once had.

You seem to miss the entire SFY strategy.

SFY is signing people for less than market value because of the tax situation. In return, the player gets a NTC. I’m not sold on this one, but other than the Killorn contract, I haven’t seen a problem. And Killorn has 2 years left and then he is going to have a very trade able contract.

He may not have had a lot of choice on the length of the contract. There are 2 sides negotiating.

The Callahan contract didn't look good to begin with and now it looks atrocious.

Iím okay with it. He got Sustrís $2 mil. Term seems long, but I trust a physical defenseman to hold up better than a physical forward.
