This afternoon my wife and I watched in disbelieve as they showed the storm live on TV. That thing was huge. Those poor people did not stand a chance.

Prayers are out to all of Moore, Oklahoma.

A meteorologist's worst nightmare. No matter how perfect the warning -- and in this case, the forecasting was outstanding -- tornadoes of this magnitude are, in some situations, unsurvivable.

Here is a piece of news.

Energy Storage

I can't believe how many hits this has on Google already.

The problems:

1)You can't recharge a cell phone battery in 20 seconds, the battery would melt or explode. Those home chargers do it in 20 minutes and you'll never get faster.

2)The energy density of a supercapacitor is about 100 times lower than that of a battery

Conclusion: This might damage battery/supercapacitor research as it is. I feel bad for the girl, it's an interesting science project (especially considering her age), but she's getting bad/erroneous advice/numbers.
