I think the ship has sailed on needing d-men who will be available to play in Tampa Bay anytime soon, bar Koekkoek's shoulder holding up, so I don't think they should feel hostage to that. Even if they got Ekblad, there's a chance he'd take just as long to develop as Hedman has taken. So, yeah, I think Murray and Co. shouldn't feel like every top-60 pick has to be a d-man. I do think they need to use 1-2 of these top 60 picks, if possible, on a d-man, to begin to build more legitimate depth at the position. But, not if there's a player from another position that's clearly head and shoulders the BPA at that pick.

I'll probably be the only person in Talcott West Virginia watching the draft today.

Default Murray

When I heard Murray's interview with Rick and Andy Thursday night he alluded to that Pete, they will take BPA and go from there.

Any chance they get Alex Tuch if they still have their #1's left?

Doubt he falls to any of our picks.

I've seen multiple drafts have him drop to us or further. Button has us passing on him in favor of Sanheim lol. If we draft him, I'm elated. Package #28 with a young forward for a top rh defenseman and it will have been a grand slam draft before we even get to round 2

Tuch would give them some talented size.

If they could trade 28 with or without adding something for Garrison from Vancouver, that would be a nice acquisition I believe.

I'm thinking Yzerman is more likely to move back in the draft now if the opportunity arises. Maybe trade one of the firsts for a second and a third? He still has a lot of ways he can go tonight.

#28 for a 2nd and 4th? Could see that.
