but sometimes change is good.
i think you are under-rating Redden. Ottawa is a screwed up organization, which began with Muckler's meddling

Default they told us

Wow they told us it would be a different group of guys and they were not lying. If we get Rolston-look out. I don't think I like a trade of Boyle because of what he brings to the table, but I would never say no to a blockbuster as long as the return is helpful to both sides. maybe though they are playing a bit and the guys being moved will be Kuba, Ward, Craig and Smirky and Jokinen? that may be what they mean by a blockbuster-- but I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Redden has been awful the last two regular seasons. He played well in the 07 playoffs until the Finals when Anaheim just broke him down with their forecheck like Pahlsson and co. did to Spezza and Heatley. Maybe a change of scenery is needed, but I wouldn't give him anywhere close to a 5 million a year contract. The pre-lockout/05-06 Redden is worth that, not the one I've seen when I've watched Ottawa games recently.

You take him way too seriously. Just boasting that he called it. People on message boards do it all the time.

I find it more comical than anything else but with him I truly believe he's sitting there rubbing his fat stomach thinking he pulled more strings...his ego is that large.

God, I wish the signal for the Babe wasn't so bad in my room.

im sorry, but it will take me a while to warm to Roberts.
he better not pull any of that cheap stuff here. that's one thing i have been proud about with the Lightning in the Torts error. we did not have players that did dirty, punkish things. I loved that. We played hard, but our guys rarely started stuff with cheap hits.

  • Complete the details for a blockbluster trade on July 1

Laughed so much when I saw that.

I dont think we need to be adding dmen, or trading them away (unless it is one of Kuba and Lukowich) because we have youth with some good veteran presence and personally I want to see our Chara v2.0 next year which isnt likely if we add any more defensemen.

  • Acquire Janne Niskala from Flyers

Ah... that's what that last smeared item on OK's ToDo list for today was...

My friend, there is a point where you're [that is the general, universal you, not personally] talking about change for change's sake. Matt's assessment of Redden sums up my feelings, maybe a change of scenery will take care of things, but that's not a chance I want to take for the money he'd be asking.

I agree with you 100% on this though:

OK, if Big Dog is calling the moves for this team, I'm out.
