If it's happened to us so much, why haven't we leaned from it and adapted? Everyone screams for the refs to just be consistent. Well, in this series they consistently didn't call interference AND Washington is obviously well trained in how to do it right up to (and slightly beyond) the point that it should be called. Because they know how playoff games are refereed.

Bottom line is, when you see the way the refs are calling a game and you don't take advantage of it and then complain after you lose? That shit is on YOU.
So we just accept that the playoffs are a race to the bottom and become the late 90ís Devils and eschew playing clean hockey in lieu of being a bunch of trapping muggers like Julienís team was in 2011 and Trotzís was this year. You think thatís right? You think thatís something the league should be functionally advocating?

Bullshit.

The standard needs to be higher here. Weíre trying to become a model franchise like the one in Detroit that Yzerman came from or, more recently, mini dynasties like Pittsburgh and Chicago. You only become that thorough the validation of winning Stanley Cups. If you think being like the Rangers or Leafs and only winning championships once in a blue moon is satisfactory, more power to you. But in my world, ďclose enoughĒ isnít good enough.

No, not become them. Just be able to play the same way if you see interference isn't being called. Look, all coaches and players are forced to adapt to rules changes every season. They do it. This is no different. I'd rather my team was properly trained and prepared for it (since it happens so often) than to be repeatedly beaten by reality and then whine about it from on high after setting tee times.

Weíre a smaller team built for speed, not for mugging people. Thatís my whole point. If youíre not going to enforce the rules on anyone, you advantage the team built to mug people.

This is the real problem imo. The league wants speed and scoring and yet allows slower teams to benefit from the rules, that are designed to increase speed and scoring, to go unenforced in the playoffs.

It's shit. This is just a contributing reason for the ECF exit.

Kucherov in exit interview confirmed that he wasn't banged up or injured.

Stamkos says he won't need surgery for the issues that were ailing him.

So Kucherov just had a case of the pouts or the Russian Oligarch/Mafia Meddling. Pathetic.

I mean, that is just an epic disappearing act then. I can hardly remember how good he looked early in the season. What the fuck?

Not even just early in the season. He was arguably the league's best player in the opening round of the playoffs against New Jersey. I legit wonder about the whole Russian mafia conspiracy... Lord knows Ovechkin is a loyal lickspittle to the powers that be in his home country and has been greatly promoted back home because of it.
