Default Confirmed: Roy & Gratton out, other notes

Buried at the bottom of today's article about Kolzig in the Times:

Quote:
Forwards Andre Roy and Chris Gratton will not be with the team. ''It's pretty disappointing," Roy said. "I love the city and fans."
Also:
Quote:
The team on Tuesday is expected to announce Vinny Lecavalier's nine-year, $77-million contract extension. A town hall meeting with Lecavalier, coach Barry Melrose and ownership will be that night at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa and is open to the public. … The Lightning will hold a rookie camp July 27-Aug. 2 in Victoria, British Columbia.
The Lecavalier stuff is known, the other part is news I think.

Default oh well

Oh well, I am sorry, in a way, to see Roy go he was fun to watch, except when he really lost his cool and there is no room for Gratton on this team unless he wants to center the 4th line and I doubt he will take that kind of pay cut or playing time cut. Good luck to both.

Not by A LOT of fans (me included). Winning is the remedy for just about anything.

Roy lightened the atmosphere in the locker room, but he didn't produce. I'm more surprised about Gratton, but I'm assuming they want Hall to take Grat's role. I understand, since hall is younger, about the same size, and cheaper. Both will get jobs somewhere else. Wouldn't be surprised to see both in our division next season.

Yeah that doesn't count for much. Its one thing with Vinny P cause he can actually play the game AND he keeps Lecavalier happy. Roy just makes jokes and take a shot every month or so. What a waste.

Roy is a really cool guy. After one practice session, Roy, unlike most players, got out of his car and mingled with the crowd waiting outside the forum, in the cold and rain, for autographs. He was even posing for pictures. Kuba did come out to the barricade and some elderly lady from Quebec asked him if he was a goalie. It was funny. After that, I've always liked Roy. It's too bad that he let his temper get the best of him.

Best of Luck to ya Andre.

Was Gratton let go because he hadn't fully recovered from his hip injury?
