Well, what’s the excusing going to be this time? Speed? Size? Refs? They’re getting our worked. Playing stupid. Dumb east west passes along the blue lines. Not clearing guys, not hitting guys when it really matters.

Caps are playing smarter, and they are protecting the puck a lot better. We aren't relying on our speed like we should be, mental mistakes all over the place instead of attacking.

Maybe Boston being a skating emergency room was why we looked so much better...

Part of it is effort and structure, but Washington's size up front has been a problem. We can't knock them off of pucks and it seems that every board battle is going their way especially with their top line. Not to mention screens on Vasilevskiy. Size doesn't always matter anymore, but when you have a big team that skates and defends well, it's tough to beat. See also: Winnipeg

Stamkos seems to be alive on his own now. Maybe put the triplets back together and put him with Point?

We need to do something drastic. Only 2 teams have ever come back from 0-2 and won a series? Nothing to lose at this point, considering how badly we've lost the first 2.

Keep Vasy in net. He's not been in top form, but washington has gotten a disgusting amount of quality chances both games. Dominque isn't superman either.

Changing the lines is worth a try, maybe change Miller with Palat, to put all the best guys together to hopefully give us something 5 on 5.

I've wondering about the 1-1-3. This seems pretty similar to a penalty kill formation at even strength. I wonder if we should try attacking it the way we do on a power play - have someone get the puck to the neutral zone with intent on dropping it back to someone with speed. Why not give it a try. What we're doing so far is clearly not the answer.

McDonaugh and JT Miller have either been invisible or making huge mistakes with the puck, costing us goals and games. Seriously questioning how much effort should be made to re-sign them. Vasi can be blamed for some of those goals, including that stupid pick he tried to do which cost them a PP goal against afterwards. But so many odd man rushes and wide open men in front, including Ovechkin for God's sake, to pin it all on him.
I saw comparisons on Twitter last night of Cooper=Dungy; I wouldn't go that far because Cooper is willing to make changes while Dungy was stubborn. But this looks like a completely different team than the previous two rounds. I'm more disappointed and confused of what I am seeing than angry. Shakeups are needed for Game 3 or it will be more of the same.

Almost nobody ever loses money betting on two things:

1. The propensity of the Washington Capitals to choke out of the playoffs before the Cup Final (100%)

2. The astonishing resiliency of the Tampa Bay Lightning

Fake news. Historically, teams that have fallen to a 2-0 deficit in a series go on to win 11.3% of the time.

Let's not get too negative...this has been a year of tremendous winning! And there's no legitimate reason why the winning has to stop just because of setbacks.

While I so want to be on board with this, I have seen nothing in the last two games that gives me hope it will happen... Iíll be there watching and rooting my arse off but in the end, they have to get their collective heads out of theirs...

Kind of with you on everything (except the fake news term, such a horrible phrase). I dont expect Washington to choke away however. I do think if we play our actual game, we are still ok. And this team has risen before when the chips are down. I just am shocked at why this team has decided to no longer play playoff hockey. They better find whatever fire drove them the last two rounds.
