Right now would be a good time to have Bernie's idea of universal childcare coverage in place, for those whose only reason they can't get back to work is lack of childcare and/or lack of money to pay for it.

Sorta depends on what that looks like, because daycare centers run into the same issues schools do although the contact tracing would be easier

Of course, it would have to be done right. I think it would be easier to pull off than at a school since there would be less kids and their schedules would be more spread out.

Had a short conversation an exec with UHC who indicated we can expect significant increases in premiums and deductibles when renewals roll out due to the size of the bills generated due to Covid. Cheers!

Completely unsurprising.
Another in a long line of things the GOP isn't thinking about if they get their wet dream and roll-back the ACA, the number of people with pre-existing conditions is going to skyrocket because of COVID as well.

National new cases also seem to be down daily from over 70,000 at peak to 55,000 today.

With the exception of Hawaii's Rt, none of these look too terrifying at the moment.

Schools re-opening in places like Georgia seem a likely way this is going to flare up again, and of course there's the weather changing in the fall looming.
Can we believe any of the numbers now that they go through Palantir (Peter Theil, a truly evil billionaire who is just a top hat, cane and monopoly monocle shy of a fucking cartoon character) and not the CDC?

Didn’t we all roll our eyes when the White House announced this change in data processing and expect this exact “good news” turn in cases and deaths?

Fuck. There’s just too much evil bullshit to keep up with! Remember, Russia pays the Taliban to kill American military personnel while their Wagner Group mercenaries kill and attempt to kill Americans in just about every conflict zone in the world.

I'm a bit confused about how that really impacts the reporting. Most of the state numbers come directly from the states, not the CDC or Palantir, so how can they be manipulated by that federal level change?

The ultimate super spreader event is on. They expect approximately 250,000 bikers in Sturgis for the annual gathering.

MAGA!

K.A. Holt: A school superintendent in GA says, "Wearing a mask is a personal choice and there is no practical way to enforce a mandate to wear them." Tell that to EVERY SINGLE GIRL who has been sent home from school/forced to change for wearing spaghetti straps or shorts above the knee.

This same superintendent also suspended a 15 year old girl for posting a picture of the backs of kids in a hallway who were shoulder to shoulder and not wearing masks on Twitter. That he could enforce.
