Yesterdays progress. It’s uncomfortable but I could not do this before the surgery.

19 days post op. Getting better every day. Getting my fucking life back too. Gaining strength and range in my left leg. Took my last strong pain pill (oxy) 2 days ago. 2 extra strength Tylenol at night and thatís it. Not a complete recovery yet as : 1). I canít sit in a normal chair for more than a few minutes. 2). Canít sit on a regular toilet seat yet though itís getting better 3). Sleeping better than before surgery but not there yet (never was a good sleeper anyway) 4 .) under strict orders to not walk more than 200 yards at one time. Doctor said to walk more often, not further. Walking 200 yards 6 time a day now. 5). Canít drive no matter I donít feel like driving anyway.
6). Not allowed back in the lab 7.). I expect to be cleared to return on 24 August.

For those contemplating: I can definitely recommend hip replacement at UCLA. Iím glad I did it when I did. My friend had his done 4 months ago and he says now that he wishes heíd done it years ago.

Also my middle daughter said she plans to ďelopeĒ soon and have a kick ass party after COVID.

Thatís great news. By the time your daughter is able to have her post covid party you should have been back to work for several years. Not optimistic on that front; we canít have nice things unless we sacrifice our freedom to die from stupidity.

My Apple Watch 5 took a three foot drop off a bedside table. The screen shattered and needs replacement. Apple charges $349! The watch is $429 to replace.

Any referrals on locals who would make this repair at a reasonable price?

Just got cleared to return to work! My hip muscles are sore, but it feels good to be independent again, to walk without a walker, take a dump on a normal toilet, and to go to work. Next follow up in 6 weeks.

I highly recommend Ed McPherson for any hip, knee or shoulder arthroplasty.
