Emergency goalie alert!

Braden Holtby's out and the Caps are in Winnipeg, so they've picked up University of Manitoba's womens' hockey goaltending coach Gavin McHale to backup Pheonix Copley tonight.

Another change-of-scenery trade!

Rangers get F Ryan Strome.
Oilers get F Ryan Spooner.

* Both players are sitting on 2 points for the season.
* Both players are signed through 2019-20.
* Both players are named Ryan S.

Default deflections

Am I the only one that is seeing a load of deflections being scored this year? I've always said its a great weapon, whether with the back to the goal or stick forward going toward the goal. I saw two beauts tonight in the Oil/Knights game. Whether its a slap pass or an "in the air" touch, it's great to see. Do you guys notice it with any more frequency?

Nah. Some guys have a knack for it. Some teams are better at it than others. But it’s inpossible to be consistent. Most of the time, there’s some skill and a lot of luck to it.

St. Louis has fired head coach Mike Yeo. Craig Berube has been named the interim head coach.

Vincent Trocheck with a nasty injury to his knee last night. If you're especially squeemish, this may not be watchable for you.

I especially cringe because I did that exact thing to my knee 5 year ago.
