I loved Blade Runner 2049. Loved the original and this sequel couldn't possibly have checked more boxes for me. It pretty much was the perfect sequel.

I saw it the past weekend. I never thought I needed a sequel to Blade Runner but that movie proved me wrong. Pretty damn excellent.

It was so good. Every character was fully fleshed out, even the ones that were only on screen for 5 minutes, and the story kept you going with how it unfolded.

Saw Justice League yesterday it was... ok. Very slow in parts while many parts felt forced. Better then BvsS but that’s a pretty low bar...

The Parking Lot Movie
We watched this movie and I almost pulled the trigger on it about 15- 20 minutes into it, but... I couldn't. My wife liked it and it ended up being one of those movies that you had to see it through to the end.
Took 3 years to film.
Documentary format.
Parking lot attendants in Virginia giving their stories.

Its a trip. Never seen anything like it.
I enjoyed the fresh newness and the fact that I never considered the social implications it conveyed, at least from their perspective.

So two quick things. First, everything I have read is saying that the new Star Wars movie is one of the best they have done. This thing is going to set all sorts of records.

Two, looks like in the next few days a deal will be finalized for Disney to buy a large part of Fox, mainly the movie side and some shows (they would not own the networks/news). Disney is getting ready to launch their own service to counter Netflix, and this is obviously a big part of it (along with getting the movie rights back for most of Marvel). The cost is going to be $74 billion. Just by comparisson, they bought Lucasfilms for $4 billion, Marvel for $4 billion, and Pixar for $7 billion.

I just learned over the summer that Darth Vader was someone’s father, so you can count on me!

I didn’t even realize they were still making Star Wars movies. I thought Lucas said that he was not going to do 7-9.

I was running a Disney Star Wars race last summer, and was even more surprised to learn that people under 50 know about Star Wars. So I guess I’m completely out of touch.

But I did see the first one back in 1970 something.
