I finally got around to watching last week’s show and I watched After Trek for the first time after it... I’m going with the hunch they make Mirror Lorca an anti hero who dies at the end of Season One in service of a higher good in both universes and that Saru is the captain from Season Two forward.

The thing about picking sides between Lorca and Emperor G is this: yeah, Lorca’s got some ethical failings, but I’ve never seen him have a Kelpian executed and served over noodles for dinner.

One more episode to go in Season One and... yeah... we put her in charge of our last chance to save the Federation. What could go wrong?

That ending to Season One was way oversimplistic. End a really dark, complex season by blowing sunshine up everyone's rear end at the end and then give us a cheap pop of seeing Pike's 1701 (with the idea we're gonna have to see young Spock next season) at the end. There's a lot of people who are gonna like that ending, but I don't think that was up to the standards of the rest of the season.

Definitely not up to standards. They could have spent the entire season 2 hashing out the conflict, but, just like in TNG, they reconfoobulate the energymotron in the last 2 minutes and it all works out. I'm still going to watch season 2 though.

I'm guessing that the new captain of the discovery will be the original #1 from the pilot episode (Majel Barrett's character).

I still think Saru is going to end up the captain. I am hopeful certain characters from the pilot like Pike, Number One, and Doc Boyce that were never developed further become foregrounded in this 1701 mini-arc, but if I were the writers I'd have a pretty strict rule about not recasting TOS core characters. Because of that, I hope we don't see Spock, Sulu, or Scotty (who were all characters in the pilot).

Default 2018 Belmont Stakes: Mosaic view of Justify winning Triple Crown

Take a look at the race Gronkowski runs...the inside rail just opened up for him...so close after being so far behind at the start...

The trailer for Star Trek: Discovery season two is now up:

https://twitter.com/StarTrekRoom/sta...59856640143362

Captain Pike takes command of the Discovery to explore some unexplained sci-fi phenomenon tied to the disappearance of Spock. Set to Lenny Kravitz.

I miss Captain Lorca.

Also, a month or two ago it was revealed that Alex Kurtzman is working on several other Star Trek TV projects for CBS, one of which may include the return of Patrick Stewart to the franchise.

I'm with you on Dexter...Just started season 8 (last one?) Bloodline was also very engaging. I guess we like "Florida" stuff even though we're not there anymore..

I enjoyed season 1 of Dexter but the novelty wore off somewhere around season 2 and I couldn't finish season 3
