"Marty Brodeur is a first-ballot Hall of Famer but he could have had a cigarette and a cup of coffee and played that game."

Love it

Can you blame them?

It would have been more exciting had they been doing the PxP and Color commentary for a funeral. That game was a snooze fest. The only "exciting" thing was the blood pressure increasing, feces flinging fucktardery the Lightning tried to pass off as hockey last night. If you wish to call me shouting at the TV, "For Fuck's Sake <Insert Player Name Here>!!", exciting.

My question is, what the hell would be wrong with having 2 D on the PP?!

Thought this, too, but who would you put out there and who would you replace? Arguments could be and assuredly will be made for Panik and Malone to come off, but then who's your big body down low?

And where would you put the second D? They play an umbrella up top. Let's say they don't - then you're supplanting either Stamkos or St Louis off their position.

Last night's shorty was a result of a boneheaded play at the blue line and corresponding laziness with little to no attempt by anyone on the ice to cover for the bonehead play. Having 2 d-man in the back wouldn't have helped in that situation. I completely understand the frustration anytime a shorty is given up, esp when it is scored via an odd-man rush shorthanded. However, this fact alone symbolizes the laziness of our players on the ice more than who those players were and what position they play.

both plays were a result of turnovers on their blueline.

Carle missing the pass to Teddy and St Louis flubbing on a pass twice that both resulted in off 3on1 and breakaway. Having 2 defenseman back either way wouldnt have mattered given the situation that both were sloppy giveaways that gave 2 freebies.

To be successful on the powerplay, you have to be aggressive anyways so thats what makes blueline gaffes that much more painful.

Simply put, team was flat...players just looked off, passes were soft and not crisp, and it seemed like NJ defense wasn't giving the lightning any room.

.02; once Panik loses this curse on his stick, I think he will start exploding with goals and points on the board. Seems like he cant do anything right. Lets hope im right.
