So far so good. Hopefully it's not another total sleepwalk in the third.

I wouldn't say that necessarily, but it did get hairy in the 3rd. Also for some reason we can't get the PK and PP going at the same time.

I dont know what yall are talking about; i must have been watching a different game. Pk was successful early, we capitalized on big plays, our goalie made the big saves, and we controlled most of play to a Stanley cup caliber team. I will take that effort every game.

We didn't control most of the play. Don't be fooled by the final result, if Lindback is in net we lose this game.

We didn't give up a rash of quality scoring chances, despite the puck possession the Kings had. I don't think that was an ugly win at all. The Lightning played a pretty solid counterpunching game. Remember, this could have been worse for LA. There were 2 squandered breakaways and at least one botched 2-on-1 in the First Period. This could have been 3-0 or 4-0 coming out of the First Period very easily.

Much better consistent effort this time, plus Bishop. Loved it. Chasing a GT like Quick is definitely a feather in the hat.

But where was the structure and discipline that was so prevalent on the road trip? Sure, they can take risk after risk and rely on Bishop all season to bail them out, but that isn't exactly the blueprint for sustainable success. And I'd sit Gudas until he learns not to leave his man during a 2 on 2 to go for a big hit, that was ridiculous.

Clearly the best game of the season so far.

That is, if considerations include a goal in the opening minute, nailing a perfect PK including a double minor, spectacular goaltending, 5-man defense, secondary scoring, your best players being your best players, another 3-point night from your captain, a bubble Dman getting his 1st NHL point, hanging five on a recent Cup champion, snapping right back with a 4th goal after giving up the one, shutting down Anje Kopitar to the point of hardly hearing the name all night, chasing one of the world's most elite goalies in the 2nd period, bouncing back after blowing the previous game, Purcell netting another GWG,...minor little stuff like that. Nitpickers gonna nitpick I guess, since no game is absolutely perfect for all 3600 seconds out of 3600, but I'll take a 5-1 victory over a top team on a 3-game winning streak any night of the week, thank you very much ← black & blue glasses

GO BOLTS

EDIT to add: 7 blocked shots for Hedman--wow
