I don't know much about UFC/MMA but I ran across this on a "soon to be published" book list and we all got a laugh out of the cover/description. Be Ready When the Sh*t Goes Down by Forrest Griffin.

Not a big fan of these types of sports either. I guess I just don't get it, or maybe I am too old and set in my ways to try and learn something new. I also ran into some jackass at a gathering one time who was trying to break into the sport and he was a big a-hole. He was not a very good ambassador to try and get me to look at this type of event.

It took me like a month to understand that.
Well I got that part. And to be honest, that aspect of it is the most appealing to me. I'd love to see how the different styles match up. But whenever I watch I seem to always see the wrestlers and grapplers, and that's just utterly disappointing to me. Why not an MMA where you're not allowed to do that?

If you get SpikeTV they have a show called UFC unleashed where they show a few fights that generally are of the exciting variety. That would be a good place to start.
