Default Strikeout of the year?

Charlie Morton goes five hole to strike out a hapless Oriole batter last night.

Vinik says he doesn't see himself buying a baseball team, says his plate is full with hockey.

Vinik doesn't want to be the principal owner of a baseball team right now, but his 2% stake in the Sox tells me he'd definitely consider being part of a group of buyers, especially if he could get the team in Ybor and he can take advantage of his footprint in the area.

He needs to buy the soccer team off the Rays, though

The Rays are now 2.5 behind the A's for the second wildcard..and the Sox are breathing down their necks. Morton is a stud, but with Snell it's like a box of chocolates. Maybe a Glasnow appearance can help down the stretch.

Snell to undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove "loose bodies" in his pitching elbow, out at least till early September. Shut him down now and be sellers at the deadline, it ain't happening this season.

They won't be sellers because of how easy their schedule will be the last couple months. I think they will just be small buyers. Nothing that costs top tier prospects, but just moves to put them in a better position heading into August. Ideally they would get a starter, a right-handed bat, and two bullpen arms.
