Default Malone Supplementary Discipline - no suspension

According to a Nick Kypreos tweet and backed by DC, no further discipline for Malone.

Quote:
No further #NHL supplemental discipline for #Lightning Ryan Malone for head hit on #Canadiens Chris Campoli. He left game and didn't return

Oh wow, it's going to be Chara 2.0 over there...

Shanny seems to be on point, if you suspend Malone there you may as well not allow hitting. He's come down hard on the stupid stuff, though... I guess he's not using the Campbell wheel

Now that I look at Twitter, no one else is reporting this, so maybe Kypreos jumped the gun once again. I sure hope not.

I actually didn't even think the hit was directly to the head.

But boy, watching that hit on youtube. Malone beat the hell out of Gorges. Man can he throw a punch. Gorges was a mess.

In the end, we felt that Malone had committed to the hit when Campoli was upright. However, when the contact was made, Campoli's head position significantly changed just prior to the hit.
Good, that's where I was hoping Shanahan would go with this.
