Or in case any is stupid enough to be excited by the notion.
Nice read.

This time around, Democrats need to understand they need to support the best policy, because they get nothing from "bipartisanship." Even if the Republicans did decide to link hands and play nice with them (they won't) the fact of the matter is any compromise will be to the right of ACA, which is already (as noted) built on the bones of a flawed Republican platform. So, that process will yield a bad policy, which Democrats will co-own along with the Republicans. So it's stupid policy and it's stupid politics.

I've been saying for a while, if ACA isn't repealed the Democrats default position needs to be to accept nothing less than a public option to go hand in hand with some of the obvious fixes like undoing Rubio's knee capping of the risk corridors and making the Medicaid expansion at the state level compulsory. And yes, all those moves need to be made with the explicit and stated goal of taking steps toward eventually getting to Medicare for all single payer. If ACA is repealed, no more compromises. No more incrementalism. The Democrats' starting position should be Medicare for all single payer. Period.
That is funny as I do remember HRC during the campaign taking credit for the ACA and said it was first modeled after Hillarycare.

Well here is some news that you will never see pete post as it does not fit his agenda.

Today Glenn Simpson (Fusion GPS) was issued a subpoena to appear next week to give testimony about the dealings of the much talked about famous dossier about Trump and Russian collusion. You know the one where a British intelligence officer played a role in putting together dirt on Trump and todate nothing has been verified by our intelligence agencies......... the same smoking gun that pete posted about many times.

Earlier his attorney said that Simpson was out of the country until the first part of August, thus he was issued the subpoena today. Now his attorney has informed congress that Simpson will not attend and he intends to plead the 5th.

Glenn Simpson's lawyer said he is on vacation and traveling overseas through early August, prompting Chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein to compel his attendance. The senators said Simpson’s attorney has asserted that his client will invoke his Fifth Amendment rights in response to the subpoena.

The ACA was modeled after The Heritage Foundation's response to Hillary-Care. It served as the model in MA for Romney, which then in turn was the model for the ACA.

Republicans amended the ACA 188 times during the extensive legislative review and passing of the ACA because the party in power allowed them to. This is historical fact.

Huh. I thought it was passed the day after the Kenyan Muslim was illegally inaugurated with no participation from the Republican Party. It was rammed down their throats and they had to pass it to read it.

Right WW?

There is also no evidence that the work Fusion did for Prevezon Holdings and the Russians was related to the Trump “dossier,” which was crafted by a former MI-6 agent named Christopher Steele and made various sordid, now discredited allegations about President Donald Trump.

However, I will agree that this Simpson character and this company are basically sleazebags for hire who will try and destroy any political candidate or party if you will pay them enough money.

Scaramucci on Trump: "I've seen this guy throw a dead spiral 🏈 through a tire. ... We're gonna do a lot of winning"

Our own Matt Sammon:

I've seen that in commercials for erectile dysfunction too.

Except very little from the dossier has actually been discredited and several salient points have been confirmed. But, you know, Fox News gonna Fox News.

Anyway, WaPo reports intelligence intercepts indicate that Kislyak reported back to his superiors he had campaign-related discussions with JBSIII (duh).

The theory amongst Republican operatives is that the Trump Administration leaked this to try to force Sessions to resign given Trump's pissed at him for recusing himself from the Trump/Russia investigation (or, in other words, for not squashing the investigation).

Hope he pushes Sessions right into Mueller's waiting arms. Would love Sessions to flip on Trump.
