I just think it is for this simple reason.

Walker is a similar player to Smabes with more experience and Hale, more of a defensive defenseman, plays a similar game although he has shown he can move the puck as well.
Wondering if Tocc wants four puck movers and two defensive guys not 3 and 3.
Maybe it's not Krajicek who is keeping Smaby out of the lineup. It's Hale who, aside from the Toronto game, has been consistently solid and has kept Smabes out of the lineup.
??

That's what I think too.

However, with both Ranger and Ohlund out, there's been a drop off on the physicality the blueline is bringing to opposing forwards. If Smaby were healthy and in game shape, I'd like to see him in the lineup instead of Lundin -- and I think Tocchet would have him in the game ahead of Lundin too.

well, now he is, with Lundin getting sent down..

I think, with the crammed schedule as the season goes on you will see Smabes in there for Walker, Hale, etc. for some games...I thought a good game for Smaby to play is tonight, but guess not...
