I don't see what's embarrassing. Anime is better than most of what's on TV nowadays, particularly animation wise. I watch Naruto still. It's basically a more intelligent DBZ. Bleach was okay until it got into filler. I am a huge fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, both series, though the latter was better. Right now I'm watching Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex. The Laughing Man stuff in it is a lot like Anonymous so it's kinda relevant. My all time favorite series is Bubblegum Crisis though. Prefer the 80s version but the remake is decent too. <3 the Knight Sabers.

I must be thinking of some Speed Racer mid-80s revival. Sorry.

It's on hiatus due to the earthquake in Japan right now.

I remember watching Battle of the Planets after school when I was 12-13 years old. Not sure if that is considered "good" anime, but it was pretty much the only Japanese anime exposure for a kid in North Alabama in 1978.

Don't know that one, but yay for someone else who remembers Star Blazers! I think half my school was rushing home for it. I didn't know until recently that it was a huge late-70s phenomenon on the independent channels that showed it. Watched some on youtube recently and I still remembered the theme song, character names, half the dialogue.

Maybe for something that memorable, an exception to "nothing before '95" rule needs to be made.

It might be better know as G-Force!!! - The good guys were dressed in bird-like costumes... and Princess had a very short skirt, just saying...
