The CDC statement is just being conservative, take it to mean AT LEAST 3 months, not only 3 months. There's been no definitive proven case of re-infection yet for the now 8 months this thing has been known to be around.

Could the Trump vs. USPS backfire?

The traditional republican advantage in mail in voting in Florida has been obliterated. Republicans are seeing mail in voting as full of fraud and have stoped using it, while democrats are embracing its use. The head of the postal union says delivering ballots, even with the funding cutbacks will be a “piece of cake.”

The big issue will be educating voters that you have to mail the ballots a week early and can’t stick it in a mailbox on Election Day.

Because Florida has always done so much of its vote by mail and counts those ballots very efficiently, the thought among a lot of folks is that Florida could end up being an early call for Biden on Election Day night and, if so, it short circuits a lot of the Trump campaigns plan to say the election is closer than it actually is and contest the vote in slower counting states.

That would be lovely. I’m not counting on that to be the case because Florida tends to be closer than it should be and I kind of expect it won’t be called until 11 pm/Midnight, but if it gets called for Biden anytime on Election Day that’ll be a clear signal Biden won the election and blunt any other foolery Trump has planned.

All that said, because I live in a state where the Republicans have demonstrated a singular talent for messing with the vote, there’s no way I’m having my ballot go through an extra layer of wingnut gatekeepers by voting by mail. I’m early voting in-person, and I would highly recommend that option to those who are able. It’s quicker than E-Day voting, less crowded, you can make it work better with your schedule, and there’s one less layer of assholes (in my case Brian Kemp-allied assholes) between you and the exercise of your franchise.

You can also hand deliver your mail in ballot. I've done this in the past when I forgot to mail it on time.

That’s what I’m doing since Tampa Bay is already on the list for having been fucked with by postal shenanigans.

I submitted mine 3 weeks ago by mail and it’s been received and tabulated.

When I get my ballot, I’m not going to have to spend a lot of time figuring out who I’m voting for.

Oh yeah, my primary ballot was mailed in. But I’m going to deliver my GE ballot by hand. At the very least it’s one less piece of mail the USPS has to deal with.

State law is that you have to request your ballot at least 10 days in advance. Guess who requested his ballot 6 days before the election and had his sent to him in time to have his ballot counted on Tuesday?

I was going to stand in line to vote, our mail service is horrible here, it's constantly botched. Didn't know you could hand deliver a mail in ballot.
