These couple weeks in April are so sad for music of my generation. So many deaths within weeks of each other. Here are three that really impact me:

We lose another great metal musician, as Jeff Hanneman, the man behind just about every infamous Slayer riff (and many lyrics) died today. People always think of Arraya (singer) and Kerry King (bald guitarist who for lack of better words is a POS), but Hanneman (long hair guitarist) and Lombardo (drummer) WERE Slayer. With Lombardo done with Slayer, and the loss of the man who wrote for Slayer, band is dead to me. God is forming one killer metal band.

A shame. Got to see them back in the day on the South of Heaven tour w/Overkill and Motorhead. Lombardo was (is) a beast too - I remember reading that he had had a falling out with the band some time ago.
