Not yet but I want to. Heard so many good things about it and I've always had a fascination with the subject.

Years and Years premiered on HBO last night. Enjoyable and terrifying.

Just finished the Last Kingdom, excellent series. I think you will like it.

What did you all think of the SDCC trailer for Star Trek: Picard. Other than the annoying inclusion of the cheesecake from Voyager (a show I mildly loathe) I thought it was quite exciting.

So, if you look at the timeline set forth in the trailer, this appears to happen either just before or just after the events that led to the destruction of Romulus in the Star Trek JJ movie reboot. I might recommend reading the Star Trek Countdown comics, which were supposed to be “canon” at the time, as I suspect part of the story is derived from them. And, that’s all I’ll say...

My understanding is it is sent after as there was some reference to Picard leading the rescues efforts to Romulus. I'm all in.

That seems to be the case from one of the earlier teaser trailers, but it also seems like there are already some major deviations from the Countdown story...

For instance, in Countdown, Picard is no longer a Starfleet officer, he's ambassador to Vulcan.

The B-4 android from Nemesis fully integrates Data's downloaded memories and personalities and becomes captain of the Enterprise-E after Picard steps down.

Etc.

My only guess is that maybe Countdown won't be canon... why let good books get in the way of a TV show (see: Thrones, Games of)...
