What’s to talk about? If these guys are all waiting to see what Mariner gets or are asking for Mathews money, there is nothing to discuss until they return to earth.

It's about term for all these RFA's. Seems like several of them want 5 years which would get them to UFA status at the end of the contract. Obviously teams want to avoid that.

My guess is that Point's camp wants 5 X 7-8 and the bolts want 3 X 7-8.

Given the amount of money we're looking at for the top unsigned RFAs, it's also possible everyone is waiting on the players' union decision of whether to opt out of the current CBA early.

The deadline for their decision is Sept. 15, so we might not see any RFA signings before then. If they opt out early, the CBA expires next September. If they don't, it will expire in Sept. 2022.

The first (kind of) big RFA signs with Arizona agreeing to terms on an 8 year deal with Keller.

He got over 7M after putting up only 43 points last season.

Didn't really realize it until I seen a list of current free agents, but how is Brian Boyle still out there? Sure, he isn't a great skater but 18 goals for a 4th liner that can play PK and is good in the faceoff circle should be a valuable commodity to any team needing depth.

Per Rick Carpiniello of the Atlantic, Pierre McGuire has been removed from NBC Sports' No. 1 hockey team and will be replaced by Brian Boucher.

I know alot of you don't care for him. But I mostly thought his call was even handed, and he offered substantial background on younger NHL'ers which I enjoy hearing. Wonder if its actually on-air related or something else. I think we all agree we wouldn't piss on Milbury if he was on fire...
