This.. Unfortunately this is what MAB is worth now.. He isn't getting any younger (or better at defense).

I thought he'd bring more than Feaster got for Bouwmeester

I hope this isn't the only deal we make.

MAB speaks...

Spoke newest Hurricane Marc-Andre Bergeron by phone,"I really appreciated my years in Tampa, itís not the year that i was expecting." (1of2)

More Bergeron, "I'm very excited that the Carolina Hurricanes are asking for my help and very excited about the opportunity." (2of2)

Am wondering that too! Not sure exactly what the complaint is here at all.

Why? Maybe I am missing some sarcasm here.

The upside here of course is our last 3 7th round picks have been pretty decent or have the potential to be:

Palat
Peca
Gusev

So if we swing for another potential home run like Gusev then it could be interesting.

I think you are seeing two complaints here. One is that we just traded for a guy we waived. Second being people think we should have been able to get a bit more out of MAB. At any rate, my complaint is about Hall, for no other reason than I find the guy incredibly likeable considering he is about the only vet who put in 110% every night even though he never got playing time, and I feel bad for the guy, getting waived, traded back for, just to get waived again. I hope someone needs a PK/FO specialist and picks him up again and gives him a shot.

Yzerman got something for a guy who's contributed nothing. It shows there was no market for MAB if the return is essentially just a 7th rounder.

It's the SFY method of GM'ing. If the player is on the bubble and there's no obvious use for that player going forward, then they're gone for whatever the market will bear. Low draft picks are better than dead salary and a roster spot.

Like Tim said, most likely this trade has nothing to do with Hall. The trade was NOT to reacquire him.

I don't hate Bergeron, but he can't even keep a regular job with us with our mediocre D corps, so his value is at about what we got for him imo.
