James Mirtle ‏ @mirtle
NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s final rankings will be released Monday morning. Should be interesting.

Sitting at 10th, at the moment. I'm more curious now as to what we'll do with (currently) the 23rd pick. Subban? Vasilevski? Trade? I do love the draft, after all.

I strongly believe that we won't trade two times in the first round. I think vancouver wants at least our 1st rounder+ for schneider. I think we will draft our 1st player with this pick

I'd personally rather keep our picks and re-evaluate the market on July 1st or when the new CBA is ratified.

Yzerman may have had scouts all over Riku and has a deal in place with JYP to bring him over once their season is over.

Isn't it a bit to much risk to bring Riku in and don't have a solide Plan B if he struggles, Garon is a great goalie, but please don't let him play a second year as starter he is not good enough to do so

If Riku comes over and can atleast give you a solid 1B option then there will be less pressure on Garon and he won't have to play as many games.

I can see us (big IF, if this happens) attempting to parlay DET's 1st rd pick to VAN in a potential Schneider deal. With DET's pick, that puts them in the wheelhouse for one or two of the rumored players they covet (Finn or BC kid Colton Scissons) without having to burn their own 1st rounder. And they then can go after whichever of the 2 aforementioned players left on the board, or Matteau, Severson, or whomever.

Can we stop with the 1A 1B option? Unless the market is too high to get a true number 1, it's seriously time to stop that. It's never worked for us since Bulin.

Hoping there's an NHL-out clause in that contract.
