Well, Cally likely can draw in for Kucherov who should be suspended at least a game.

Implosion. Embarrassing. They're about to be remembered forever for a historic season and choke.

If their season ends this series the entire organization needs to be evaluated. Lack of movement by our GM, lack of game plan by our coach, continued lack of post season production by our "Star" players. Forever the bride's maid is not a good look for this franchise. I don't care if we obliterated the Red Wings record, we needed to win a damn cup.

Agreed, if this is, indeed, the season.

Can't be paying that much money to guys who don't like playing in the playoffs.

Absolutely correct. Disappointing and embarrassing. The playoff choker label they've been wearing is getting tighter and tighter. And all the big guns you'd rely on are silent again. Looking like tee times will be coming up soon.

This team doesn't even look like they're trying to play playoff hockey.

How do you play like that in a game you had to respond in? That's not about coaching, that's about that "veteran presence" we've been told about all year. Where is it? I don't see it. I see a bunch of scared players. Vasy looks utterly shook. Every mistake by the guys in front is ending up in the net.

I think we got our answer about this team though. They aren't working hard. They aren't willing to pay the price necessary to win in the playoffs. You need to play every shift with an attention to detail that they simply have not exhibited yet. Effort, details, defense. If no one scores on a shift for either team but you busted your ass and made smart/safe plays, that's good. I'll settle for that. Show me hustle and smart plays with some punts instead of boneheaded turnovers that you know your headcase goalie can't deal with right now. I wish Vasy were in Vezina form, but he's not. He looks bad.

You'd think after Columbus outworked them in game 1 they would have adjusted. They came into this game looking scared and when they went down it seemed like all they could do was see red and miss wide open opportunities or make rash plays that backfired.

Ironic your avatar since Sheldon Cooper would likely do a better job than Jon Cooper.

Seriously, how is Cooper going to make players not be scared? The players have to execute. TJ and Palat look absolutely timid. Hedman looks timid. The only players not scared are Gourde, Joseph and Cirelli. To a lesser extent Killorn, but that fucking interference penalty in the offensive zone was a boneheaded af move. I felt it was kinda ticky-tack, but he did rock Dubois without the puck. Can't do that. Play smarter.

Until they match the effort of the Jackets, they won't win. You're not going to skill/coast your way through a playoff game. That has little to do with X's and O's of the game. It has everything to do with motivation and if you're looking to a coach to provide motivation to professional athletes at this point, you're looking in the wrong place. These players need to take pride in every detail, play with aggressive confidence and trust one another on the ice every shift. They're not doing that. Coop can't skate for them.
