Outstanding goaltending, including pure brilliance on that late scrum with the puck behind his pads ...

If he keeps this up they might need to rename it the Vasi-na Trophy.

If he meant it that way, the bank pass Hedman made to Kuch for the empty netter was amazing. A perfect 150 foot pass off the boards, with a different angle coming off the boards than it had going in.

Those saves where spectacular. Sitting at the game the chants of "Vasy, Vasy, Vasy" were loud and clear. Luck does have a way of balancing out though just hope these last couple games for Vasy were the low bar will need much more - SKILL and LUCK when we finish the pre-season and head into the real season.

Obvious that the Zebra's have started to tune up the rule book #2 getting ready for the main attraction come April.

The ESPO rule still is true if you fail to score on a 5 on 3 1:34 seconds that you are not going to win the game. What a frreaking kill from the boys.

The bad luck - we lose another "D" and it's huge as Mac is arguably our best defender on the back end. Although, to me not quite up to his normal standards of the past couple years..... he's warming to the task April showers NO MORE.

Mentioned by Coop probably a call up today. The question is who? Witkowski has been injured, so it will most likely be either Machine or the Right Foote

I'd love to see the Foote in house and see what he has. Even if for a look see giving him something to aspire too for next year.

See ya all Saturday for another sleep walk with the Trotz - trap and go system.

Are we certain that wasn't a shot by Hedman that was just a little wider than normal?

It was a beautiful thing. The first time the “Let’s go Pens” chant rang out, before they could get to the chant the third time, Sergachev scored and shut them up. They got fairly quiet until Malkin scored. But before they could finish announcing the goal, Cirelli scored.

And the final dagger was the Kucherov empty netter.

Unhappy Pens fans. It’s a beautiful thing.

The unhappy Pens fans warm my heart. Great game last night except for the loss of McD, hope he is not out too long. Also hope they bring up the right Foote also.
I wonder if Dillon of the Sharks might be available for a 2nd or 3rd, he is a big guy who has playoff experience. And is a pretty good Dman.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Masin be up based on what others are saying, especially with Sergachev looking pretty good playing on the right last night. Of course they could just move Sergachev back to the left and put Schenn in as well.

Default Schenn

You may well be right my friend, but Schenn’s lack of speed does worry me, especially against the NYI.

Yeah some. But he isn't slower than Girardi was last year and Hedman was able to cover him alright. I think limited minutes next to Hedman, he would do alright. You could then roll Sergachev into McD's place. They do have a few options though at least. If I was guessing, I'm guessing broken foot that keeps him out 6-8 weeks.

Cooper said last night that early indications were it is not as bad as it looked so that would seem to imply that initial xrays didn't show it as broken. Once swelling goes down, however, sometimes things change.
