From Dan Rosen on Twitter:
Quote:
Jim Nill said he found out about “a material act of unprofessionalism” regarding Jim Montgomery over the weekend. He didn’t divulge details. He said Rick Bowness will be the interim coach for the remainder of the season. Bowness said he found out about the change this morning.

Nill said the Stars investigation into the act of unprofessionalism began Sunday. He said this was a total surprise.

Nill said this is not related to anything to do with past or present Stars players.

They replaced him with Rick Bowness.

You remember Rick. He’s the guy you all wanted fired after you wanted Frantz Jean fired, but before you wanted Cooper fired.

I think so. This was the guy in charge of the third worst PK in hockey that season. You know, that PK that shot up 10 percentage points the next season to tops in the NHL?

Pete DeBoer fired in San Jose. Bob Boughner will take over.

Since we have to specify on these things now ... this one was a hockey decision.

Now zero points in 25 games with a -13. Gah

Also our old friend Slater Koekkoek has been serving popcorn on a regular basis for a pretty terrible Blackhawks team. 14 gp this season and only 3 assists and -4 to show for it. Change of scenery hasn't seemed to help much.

Taylor Hall has been held out of tonight's Devils game for precautionary reasons.

I’m told Taylor Hall has not been dealt at this point, however, there is some traction in trade talks the Devils are having with teams and so the risk is not worth playing him play at the moment. Stay tuned.

New Jersey has placed former 1st round pick D Joe Morrow on unconditional waivers.

Man, if you're so bad you're getting released by the Devils...

As Derek has noted, Ruuta is coming on in his overall play. I don't see him losing puck battles in our end nearly as often. And he's shooting the puck from the blueline with some authority. It'd be nice if he continues to develop as a solid 6 D.
