Can we just relegate Minnesota back down to NASL and promote the Rowdies? 6-1 home debut loss for them after a 5-1 loss. Woof.

Honestly think Edwards and the Rowdies organization need to take notice of what Arthur Blank and Atlanta United are doing, because they're raising the bar of expectations for expansion clubs. They aren't just being built to compete in MLS, but to compete for CONCACAF Champions League titles and be the premier club in North America. You've already got clubs like the two New York sides that have equally lofty aspirations, especially NYCFC. Simply getting to MLS can't be an end in of itself for the Rowdies. They've got to figure out how to be the equal of these other big clubs in the MLS East.

So, Martinez had another 2 goals today and Atlanta pummeled Chicago 4-0. Granted, Chicago isn't a good MLS team, but unlike Minnesota, they're at least a somewhat organized MLS team with MLS athletes. They made Atlanta work for their goals, but Atlanta was fully capable of doing that work.

Atlanta has a tougher stretch of road games coming up, but they seem like the real thing.

I think the answer is get an Argentine coach (Guillermo Barros Schelotto would be my target, smart guy who has won everywhere including MLS), and then bring in the young cheap South American talent.

Annoys me that the Rowdies have tried Brazilians here and there but no Argentinos.

There's this weird elitist stigma I've noticed in soccer commentating ranks about European style football versus South American style football that preferences possession and build up over counter attacking. I've always found it kind of ludicrous because I find the fast counter attacking soccer far more exciting. Reminds me of hockey, quite frankly, and countering into odd man rushes. Clubs in North America should embrace it as a hemispheric thing, IMO, rather than trying to duplicate the European style and acquire a bunch of European-based players.

Credit to Bruce for putting all his healthy attacking players in the lineup and going aggressive. 3-0 at half and moved up to 4th in the hex at the moment from 6th. Would be nice to tack on another goal or two.

Hat trick Dempsey. 6-0 USA a little over 9 minutes into the Second Half. This is an absolute slaughter. Dempsey and Pulisic are killing Honduras.

Its almost as if Klinsi didn't know what he was doing.. This is huge considering we've erased the goal difference deficit in one night.

Rowdies set an attendance record with a sold out home opener against Orlando City B. We absolutely dominated them throughout the match but could only score 1 off a well-earned penalty kick. Should've been at least 3-0. Hopefully the finishing is better next week. Overall we look faster and better than last year, though!

Martinez down 4-6 weeks for Atlanta United with a quad strain suffered in Venezuela's WC qualifier. Will be counting on Kenwyne Jones at striker when he gets back from Trinidad.
