I don't see why not, though a third may be more realistic. Still, Kuba set career high in his first year for Tampa and last year was still more productive than any of his Minnesota years. He's got value, and as the dust starts to settle on the FA frenzy, he should be easy to trade with a reasonable salary.

Bump to include the Boyle, Lukowich for Carle trade.

With this move, the Bolts are currently ~350k under the cap midpoint. Although, there is still about +$3.1M in other factors (additions and subtractions) to consider (Stamkos, R2, roster adjustments).

This brings the estimated cap hit currently to about $3.5M over the cap midpoint. Although the actual payroll expenditures is much less than this since the cap hit includes all possible bonuses that might not be actually paid.

Bump.

Added Mark Recchi. We now have 14 forwards on one-way contracts with both Stamkos and Artyukhin left to sign. Halpern will be on IR, so assume that TAM will be moving at least two forwards off the roster to make room for Stammer and R2.

Hell... I went ahead and removed any two-way contracts off the payroll tracker -- which means both Lundin and Smaby went bye-bye. That left 6 defensemen on one-way deals, with another expected to sign.

The team cap hit is currently right at the cap midpoint, with R2 and Stamkos to be added, two forwards to be removed, and a defensemen to be signed.

Barrie was quoted in today's Tribune that they like the young defense and think they are going to be good, thus they loading up on offense.

HockeyBuzz.com has a neat section called Cap Central.

Here's the TBL page.

Might want to factor in Artyukhin now.

Bump w/latest updates.

Currently the team is just $1.0M under the cap with 26 players including 17 forwards. Clearly some more yet to be done.

Assuming the team jettisons Jokinen and Ouellet, signs Keith Carney to a one-year $1.75M contract, and assigns Hutchinson to Norfolk, the team will start the season at ~$3.0M under the cap with 23 players on the roster and one player on IR.
