Default NHL Game Night: 2-17-20 Lightning at Avalanche

Lightning push win streak to 11 by silencing upstart Avs in OT.

COL-3 (OT)

Curtis McElhinney allowed 3 goals on 27 shots for the victory. Made a handful of key situational saves. Good start from your number two. He's been steady in the role all year.

First Period
4:49 COL Burakovsky (19), (Rantanen, MacKinnon)(PP)

Second Period
4:54 TB Killorn (23), (Palat, Cirelli)
5:10 TB Gaunce (1), (unassisted)
13:43 TB Stamkos (27), (Point, Shattenkirk)
18:26 COL MacKinnon (33), (Landeskog, Johnson)

Third Period
12:43 COL Nichushkin (12), (Makar, Landeskog)

3:03 TB Kucherov (29), (unassisted)

Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos were the game's first and third stars.

Once every couple of years my Center Ice feed reminds me of how much I can't stand the Avs' TV announcers. Thank you, Nikita Kucherov, for silencing those clowns. 'Preciate it.

Yep, Steven Stamkos scored goal 420 of his career at a mile high. Can't make this stuff up.

Tampa Bay completes segment six of the campaign at 85 points, a full 13 points ahead of minimum playoff pace. There's a decent chance they'll have the playoffs pretty well in the bag by the end of this next segment. Fortunately, there's still a lot to play for as they remain hovering just one point back of Boston in the division. So, they're still in hunter mode.

Bring on the Blake Coleman era.

Mitchell Stephens was +1 with 1 shot in 8:07. He was also 40% on 10 draws.

I actually listened to the Alt guys for about half the game..That's all I could take. Kuch beat MCK on his goal only because "MCK was at the end of a shift". Haaaaaaaa Homerism its best.

Disagree with Kuch as first star though...he was very ineffective most of the game. I thought Serge was again playing at a 90% Hedman level. Killorn and Point both had big games, all over the ice.

I disagree on the Sergy evaluation. That was one of his weaker games IMO. He's still young so ups and downs are fine. He'd likely tell you he was ass tonight too.

Agree on Kuch, except for the GWG, he was frustratingly potato-brained all night.

Good win despite the officiating. Not one to complain about officials, but tonite was an exception. Cirelli’s line was very good. Will be interesting what line Coleman starts on. Guess he will be with Gourde and Johnson.

That was the feed they used on ESPN+. Mike Haynes, yuck.

On the other hand, poor Rick Peckham sounded like he had a hairball when Kuch scored because he couldn’t tell where the puck was. “SCOOOOO - aaaaack”

Sergachev played one of his worst games of the season last night. The whiff pass leading to a breakaway was pretty emblematic of his overall performance.
