Default Blake Coleman traded to Bolts

Lightning give up Nolan Foote and the Vancouver draft choice.

That’s an awful lot to give up.

Blake Coleman is signed through 2021 and has a $1.8 million cap hit at which time he will be a UFA.

22 goals, 14 assists and 71 PIMs

I hate it. Not sure I would even be happy with just a 1st. Has he been given a 4/20 million extension yet?

Blake Coleman is a hell of a player but that's essentially trading two 1st round picks. Whatever, if it helps us win a cup than so be it but I hate losing Nolan Foote after what he showed at the WJC.

Where have you gone Stevie Yzerman
Bolt Nation Turns itís lonely eyes to you
Boo hoo hoo

Whatís that you say Mrs Robinson
Stevie Y has left and gone away
Nolan too, 1st round too

I guess now I have to root for Vancouver to make the playoffs. If they miss and it becomes a lottery pick, Iíll be even more pissed than I am right now.

This is JBBs Fedotenko deal. Hopefully it pays off like that one did.

The window is now, load up and make the run. Coleman is the type of player we need for the postseason. Prospects and draft picks are for rebuilding teams, we want the Cup.

I do see the logic in this trade from the bolts front office perspective. I'm sure they think that they will get most of the value they just traded back when they move Killorn in the summer.

After the Zucker deal and reading more about Coleman, I think it is on par with what we should expect. Coleman is better than Zucker and much cheaper. Apparently he is a great forechecker(needed for playoffs), great penalty killer and solid scorer.

I guess the plus side is that he already has 20 goals in a season. Seriously though, this deal is, yikes.
