Smart decision by Besler (and Zusi). If he was younger I'd say go, but at this point he can do a lot more for himself and U.S. Soccer by staying and improving in MLS. Would have been dumb to leave and wallow on Sunderland's bench or something.

KC is on a roll announcing a $60 million-plus, 190-acre soccer village which will also be the home of USSF's National Training and Coaching Development Center.

Welcome back EPL, we missed you! Man U gets beat at home by Swansea City for the first time ever, and lose their home opener at Old Trafford for the first time since 1972. If they don't pick up VanGaal's system quickly, it could be another long season for them.

All the hype in the preseason, and then a performance just like the kind they had under Moyes last year.. As a City fan I find it highly amusing but surely they've got to get it turned around this year.

And Stoke fall to Aston Villa. The new additions looked pretty good though.

Argentina just completely embarrassed Germany at their celebration party, running away with things 4-0 before being good sports and allowing them a couple. Where was that a couple months ago? Damn. Really missed Di Maria. He had a goal and 3 assists tonight.

Deal gives Rowdies owner control of Al Lang Stadium

Good riddance to the baseball commission. Looking forward to the improvements going ahead!

This guy has a point...

Abandon Hope

Quote:
Is hitting family members only objectionable when the alleged perpetrator is a large, scary black football player? Or is physically assaulting people always wrong, even when it's done by an attractive young woman who is eagerly put forward as a "role model" for young girls across the fruited plain?

A lot of observers were appalled to see hundreds of Ravens fans wearing Ray Rice jerseys in Baltimore last week, and like numbers of Vikings fans in Adrian Peterson jerseys. Despite the fact that neither of them have been convicted of anything, their league has suspended them - and the other players currently accused of DV - and discontinued sales of merchandise bearing their names.

But there was Hope Solo last night, on the field for the USA as girls in "Solo" shirts cheered her on and plenty more were available at the convenient USSF sales tables.
