Just as he did for Dotchin… until Dotchin lost his ever lovin' mind (or whatever happened).

I am completely comfortable with a top four of Hedman/Foote & McDonagh/Cernak.

Exactly. If Hedman could carry Dotchin for a half season, he should be able to work with a blue chipper like Foote.

Lightning lack maturity. Just listen to them in interviews. With maturity comes insight and honesty and critical assessment. Did not hear accountability in their post series comments. There is still plenty of time for this group. Ovechkin took years to mature. Kucherov and Vasilevskiy certainly not mature at this point. Not ready to give up on this group.
Lightning lack swagger as well and that is cultivated by the coaching staff. Not completely convinced Cooper the answer but for now he has to be.
Could Callahan go on LTIR and then join the coaching staff?
Would Trouba be an option?
Are we expecting too much from Sergachev at his age?
Can Palat find his game?
Is Stralman done?
Have they seen enough of Killorn?
Should be interesting draft and off-season. GO BOLTS!!

Vasilevskiy owned his lousy play. He was the only one I recall that stepped up and did so.

For sure not mature, but time will tell

That would be so cool to see a player coach, but likely not practical. Would that even be possible/practical?

Yes, young D men take years to become NHL ready

Yes, I would look for other options to replace Stralman

Killorn was good especially in playoffs ....but now I would replace with Sean Kulraly

Expansions drafts are a nightmare which is what I an concerned about.

I don't think he was talking about Cally being a player/coach. He said go on LTIR and then accept a coaching position.

Disagree 100%. He was good for like 3 weeks in the regular season and maybe 2 games in the playoffs. He's not the reason we win or lose, but he absolutely does not play a power game right now, which is what he is supposed to do. Which is part of the problem we have in the macro. It's great that he has chemistry with Cirelli on the third line, but he doesn't create space for anyone, and he doesn't score enough to be considered a skill guy. Brayden Point and Yanni Gourde are more effective in the crease, which should be embarrassing for Killorn.

Unrelated to the above, but if I'm JBB, I'm offering Joe Thornton a Kunitz/Kariya 1yr/1M deal in the offseason. Not sure he has much left, but he sure fits the grizzled vet/never won a Cup motivator ("The Andreychuk") role.

Thornton is on the Sharks, who got eliminated last round by the Blues.
