If he gets a new ballpark, he may be a billionaire sooner rather than later because the value of the Rays should go up appreciably. Question is: can he put a management team in place to get the team back to being a contender on the pitch.

https://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/201...rs-news-rumors

Rumor has Atlanta United signing Gonzalo Martinez of River Plate to replace Almiron come the offseason. That would have... interesting... implications for Barco if he’s not going to be the #10 replacement. It also suggests to me Tata may not be leaving... or that the rumors of having Sampaoli lined up to replace him are true (less likely, I would think).

Pity Martinez is an absolute crack. I hate that guy for what he does against Boca. He belongs in Europe. That would be a massive coup for Atlanta.

IMO yes. He looked really good in a callup with Argentina last international break and has been a key part of River's trophy wins over the past couple years. I could be biased, though. Dude has scored some big goals against my team, ugh.

Fascinating given that Tata's meeting with the United organization about his future was yesterday and today we start seeing these rumors. Related?

We might be on a crash course to a Boca vs. River final in the Copa Libertadores with both teams advancing to the semis.

That would be insane. Absolutely insane. I'm not sure Argentina would be able to handle it.

Almiron to Arsenal after the MLS season ends is being reported as a done deal on the radio here in Atlanta. $11-$13M transfer fee is what I've read. Word is the out clause on Pity Martinez's deal is $17M.

Almiron appears to have pulled his hamstring in today's 2-1 win over New England. Tata confirmed he'll likely be shut down for the team's two remaining regular season games as they try to clinch the Supporter's Shield. He'll get approximately a month to recuperate before the playoffs. Barco stepped in as the #10 for United in Almiron's stead.

SkySports in England saying the Almiron to Arsenal deal is close. They peg the price at 15M pounds. Reports earlier in the week pegged the price at 11M Euros, which Atlanta's President laughed off and said they'd have to pay triple that for United to sell Almiron. Seems like Eales is trying to milk as much loot out of Arsenal as he can before pulling the trigger.

Meanwhile, on FoxSports Argentina, River's President confirmed that Atlanta United has expressed interest in Pity Martinez, but hasn't made an offer yet. Martinez's escape clause alone is rumored to cost between $17M and $25M to trigger, so clearly United's in a position of trying to pay for Pity's out clause with Miggy's transfer fee.

And still no resolution in "As the Tata Turns". He made some recent comments in the press that seem like he's leaning toward leaving because he may have accomplished everything he wanted with Atlanta.
