Just got out of class and judging by the comments/game score I assume I didn't miss much.

Every pass is a little off. No one really wants to skate hard. Bishop doing bishop. Minn now in "prevent" mode.

You are all caught up.

Last ten minutes just won't cut it. I'm not sure what else Coop can do.

JT Brown looked good tonight, that's about all I could come up with.

'Meh' about sums it up. A lot of bad passes and slow reactions. Does the imminent return of Stamkos and the Olympic break factor in to the lack of motivation here?

BTW, is it 2014 or 2004 (1994?)? MIN was blatantly holding and tripping TB all night with almost no penalties. That shit never fails to piss me off. Inconsistant penalty calling had got to be fixed.

Refs are human, they call the game differently. Especially with the rules written as grey as they are, the most you can hope for is in-game consistancy. To expect one human to set their blurred line at the exact same spot as another is crazy. I personally didn't have too much problem for the period and a half I watched.

My problem was our #2 line (specifically Purcell), and our defense (like every freaking game). Honestly I like the Thompson/Crombeen/Malone line, but hate switching centers constantly for Kucherov/Brown. I've never really been a fan of the 7 dmen thing. At this point, I'd like to go back to 6 dmen and try to rotate 4 full lines instead of double shifting. And maybe that happens when Stamkos comes back. But seeing Marty creeping back over 22 minutes each game is giving me bad flashbacks to last year. And at this point, I'm not sure I don't bench Salo to do it. I know, he has a big shot, plays on the PP, but his defense has completely nose-dived.

It's interesting. When the Wild played here they were called on most of their BS and lost, over there they get to do whatever they want. Maybe the West isn't superior to the East at all, it's that their refs let them get away with murder against Eastern teams all too frequently. The same pattern seems be in play with the other Western teams we lost to on the road.

Man, I really thought they were going to tie it at the end there. They could've eked at least one point out of it with six attackers, but Johnson gripped his stick a little too tight with the wide open net and rang it off the post. Tough luck...he'll be waking up suddenly in a sweat hearing that haunting metallic sound. In OT anything can happen but good grief, their 23-yr-old space rookie in net brought some sick skills with him from his home galaxy
