Huet was a UFA - It wasn't Washington's decision whether to keep him or not, it was Huet's decision where he wanted to play.

It's not like the Blackhawks are a highly desirable team... hell, even Cullimore was begging to get out after one year.

True, but they are getting better. Kane and Toews come to mind .. they weren't that far off from a playoff berth, and if it wasn't for the extended injury Toews had, they might have made it. They're on the up, at least.

Had he signed for Atlanta, that'd be another story.
