Too early. A lot of the top prospects for the 2019 draft are not even done with their Junior seasons in high school. You will get a better idea around August once a lot of these kids play in summer showcases.

Rays have been garbage at drafting for a long time. They have a loaded farm system, but very few were drafted by the Rays. This draft in 2018 will be really important with them having 6 picks in the top 100. A strong 2018 draft and getting a top talent in 2019 could help set them up for a nice decade of contention with the depth of their system currently.

You mean until they reach their prime and trade them to the big market teams for more picks.

Face it, baseball is a rigged system. The only purpose of the smaller market teams is to keep the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Mets and other big market teams loaded with stars.

Until fans in small markets get fed up and stop watching the system will continue.

Sternberg still made money last year and will probably this year too. Bought team for 200 million and could probably sell for a billion, which I'm guessing is why a guy like Vinik isn't gonna buy.

Stu is doing pretty well in 2018. Each owner got $50 Million for the selling the technology behind their streaming service to Disney. Plus, he got a $1 Billion dollar TV deal that will average over $80 million a year. Clearly why opening day payroll went up a whole $7 Million...

Did payroll go up? That is hard to believe after jettisoning half the players people could actually name
