The problem with the coverage is NBC is steadfast in keeping coverage the same as it has been, but times they are a changing. And TV doesn't want to adapt.

Oh, and their cutting out the tribute to the London bombings victims during the opening ceremonies was disgusting. Meredith Viera not understanding who created the Internet was embarrassing as well.

Anyway, go women's soccer!

Keep in mind they are looking at the big picture... how many people are going to watch the event live vs. the replay time... a majortiy of Americans are at work or a sleep during the actual event time event though a lot of sports nuts (i.e. most of us) would make arrangements to be able to view whatever we are interested in. I understand from the radio this morning that the events are being streamed live on the net, so that is about as progressive as it gets. That being said, I haven't tried the stream as I am at work but I would hope it is decent quality.

The stream is terrible though. Random commercials, horrible buffering times, and really grainy/low resolution. To me that is as a big a problem as any.

Dear God some of those "singers" can not sing if their life depended on it. How they ever got a record deal, I'll never know.

But, this nonsense with NBC is over, and we can get on to the important things, like SHARK WEEK!!!!!! (even though Discovery is really starting to do a crappy job with it and getting into a Speilberg Jaws model of the big bad scary ocean monster)
