Yeah, it's almost unfathomable how fast she went to the darkside…

Apt comparison. Handled about as ham handedly.

Yeah. Here's the thing, if they had a full 10 episode series it would have been a lot better.

I mean, the turn makes sense if you fill in lots of gaps that they should have written about and explored over 10 episodes, but couldn't.

Entire "destiny" has been the Iron Throne. Her life's mission was turned upside down when she realized she has a weaker claim to her "destiny". Compound that with misogyny that gives men more power in Westeros. Compound that with her being an outsider and from a house that went full batshit the last time they were around and everyone mistrusts her.

Then kill one of her children, turn it undead. Kill another one of her children. Kill her "sister". Have Jon's secret get out so that now everyone will know she's not the best claimant to the Iron Throne. Then one of her loves dies(Jorah). Then Jon can't get down with his aunt anymore so she loses another love. I can see how she'd go mad, but this shit was rushed like hell. 2-4 more episodes of her slowly going mad would have worked wonders for her arch.

Jaime's arch was hamfistedly ended as well with Cersei. Cersei's death is one of the most unsatisfying deaths for a villain I can remember.

Seeing as happy endings aren't really a thing in Game of Thrones, I can totally see Dany winning it all, killing Jon after making him watch his sisters be burned to death like Ned had to watch her father kill his brother and father. Then she'll go all Harrenhall on Winterfell with Drogon. She'll become just another tyrannical spoke on the wheel that Varys wanted so badly to break. Series ends with the Three-Eyed Raven seeing another Night King being born. The Wheel turns on and grinds everyone into submission.

Lots of characters that were morally gray area characters chose their paths last night. Jaime chose Cersei. Arya chose not to let vengeance be her end. The Hound chose vengeance and it was his end. Dany chose power over love out of fear, ironic because she says "Let it be fear" as if she's going to rule with fear. Varys chose the people/realm. Tyrion chose his family and realm.

Let's see if Jon learned anything from his uncle's death.

If the allegedly leaked plot outline (which accurately predicted the last two episodes but I admit to just discovering it on Sunday) is correct, God help everyone in a few nights because the internet will crash.

If it's true, it may not rival the shit show that was Dexter's finale, but it will certainly make an effort.

Unfortunately those leaks sound very realistic right now. Very sad way to end my favorite tv series ever

Will be interesting to read Martinís final two installments. Curious on how much of this last couple of seasons had his input.

Series should have been another season, too many character assassinations. Some things were foreshadowed, but that is not the same as character development
