100% agree. If we're going to move that pick for a D, it should be a guy who can darn sure hit well. That and has a high hockey IQ, is what we need most. Tired of the abysmal turnovers from Matt Carle and poorly timed rushes from Brewer

#Nichushkin tells @rsportru he's leaving Russia next season. Claims Dynamo is tearing up his contract. Uh?

Sounds like a couple of things are going on... but I don't think Dynamo is tearing up his contract. That's not what I read...

Sounds like primarily Nichuskhin wants to play "somewhere" next season on a top-tier league team's top two lines -- and it doesn't seem like Dynamo is guaranteeing that he will make the big club roster or play anything higher than the bottom lines. And he wants to exercise his out clause to come to NA and play on an NHL team's top lines -- but have the fallback to go back to Dynamo if things "don't work out across the pond".

So... yes, he could probably play top two lines in NAS because of a dearth of skill that club has. But you have Barry "The Road to my Roster Goes Through Milwaukee" Trotz to contend with as a head coach. If Poile drafts Nichushkin, you might as well take my bank account and house, cause I would have lost it all on that bet. With the big 3 off the board, I still believe Poile takes Barkov 10 days out of 10. And I don't see Yzerman guaranteeing a roster spot for him either, much less a spot on the top two lines. Not with all the depth we have at forward banging on a deserved roster spot. Get in line Valeri, just like Namestnikov and Kucherov have.

So, the young man is delusional, and I'm sure at the hands of Gandler who has first got a $2M deal for him from Dynamo and is probably now playing the NHL draft card to get max rookie deal for him in NA. He certainly doesn't sound like a player that will toil loyally in Syracuse while he rounds out as a hockey player, and he doesn't sound like a player that will be happy with a lower line assignment. Hopefully, this press piece is a deal breaker for Murray/Yzerman.

Color me skeptical on his appearance in North America next year.
