They scored 3 goals on a 5 minute major a team that 12.8% including this past game, and they scored 3 times. The Devils set records at penalty killing this year, and allowed 3 goals in 5 minutes. Bernier was not on the ice for those five minutes, the Devils imploded and allowed those goals all by themselves because they (led by their coach) couldn't put behind them the Stoll hit.

)Carter is one of the few Kings I didn't want to see lift the Cup. It seems like he sulked throughout his tenure in Columbus, and that's not fair to the fans there. Adam Proteau had a good one liner that summed up my feelings: "Heartwarming to see a guy like Jeff Carter rewarded for his two-and-a-half months of hard work this season."

Perhaps then, you get out of the 5 min PP down 2-0, well thats managable. Down 3-0...tough sledding. Kings had a great run and congrats on their first cup. Good to see someone new. BTW, they have a few players on that team I would love to see come to Tampa. Loved the audible gasp from the 18000 there....and millions on TV, when Gagne hoisted the cup. On a side note, Has anyone got a still picture of the game 6 "non goal" from the 2004 series in Calgary? |

Wow. Buncha firsts last night. For me, I'm old, and I've never seen a team score three goals on a single major penalty before. I didn't hear if that had ever happened in a Cup Final, but I'd bet it never decided a champion. Amazing.
Another first--never thought I'd see Marty Brodeur leave his game in his locker with a Cup on the line. Weak softies one after another, until complete surrender. GWG went in off the glove, that puck should've been caught. In that situation, in that game, with that goalie, that save needs to be made. The next one too, yeesh. Will he come back? Until that game he was fricken ridiculously awesome. Congrats to the Kings after 44 years they finally got one. Seeing that Cup being skated around in all that black, silver & white sure brought a heavy rush of the memories...a lot of 'em, all at once. Pretty hard to handle. Taking that boarding call was brutal. Getting no make-up calls is brutal. But taking a boarding call and then getting all bent out of shape over getting no make-up calls is weak -- esp. in the Cup Final Oh crap. I just realized. Hockey is now officially over. Is it October yet?

Great stuff for Kings fans. Bravo--wallow in the victory, since you never know when or if you may ever have the chance again. For us the lockout feverishly sucked in every way imaginable except one: we got to keep the Cup for two years
![]() Dave Mishkin this dude ain't, but then who is? Mish puts forth more raw energy when we score late to spoil a 6-0 shutout in November, but that's just his over-the-top zany style we've grown accustomed to. No doubt to people who've listened to Kings games on the radio over the decades of mediocrity, this was like velvet Elvis...(the voice, not the painting) I tell ya, seeing that mass of black, silver & white mobbing that goalie up against the end glass once again definitely gave me the chills, like being right back up in 318 taking that scene in...massive déjÃ* vu...it'll probably keep doing that through the years whenever they show this clip

Johnson's the complete opposite. Watching his old team win the cup will only make him more motivated. |
