Hell of a game by the Rowdies last night, beating Puerto Rico FC 3-0.

Joe Cole's bicycle kick goal was so good it made number one on SportsCenter Top 10 list for Saturday.

Florida Cup soccer tournament coming to St. Pete, set to draw global fans

The Rowdies will be hosting and playing Wolfsburg (Germany) and River Plate (Argentina), two huge teams abroad! They'll also be adding bleachers to hold 10,000.

Hope Solo is a train wreck against Columbia. Couldn't happen to a nicer gal.....

I may be a bad american, but after giving hope solo zero punishment for her domestic violence and everyone ignoring it, I took joy in seeing that team blow it. I feel for the other girls, but this team deserves no medal.

I wasn't upset either. That's the karma they get for bashing the men in pursuit of a bigger pay day. The revenue comparison is going to be hilarious now. No victory tour for the ladies and the men raking in millions from hosting Copa America.

So Hope Solo gets a 6 month band (mind you nothing of importance is going on during these 6 months), Solo says she will not change because this is why she is good, and women's soccer association is claiming sexism (mind you they didn't feel the need to do this with her domestic violence charges and the like one week of practice she was suspended for). I think I'm to the point now that I will actively cheer against this team (while watching highlights, not going to give the women's team any ratings)

I think while she deserves it, it's bad optics for them to suspend her now. They should have done it before, but at least they have that rap sheet to point at. I don't know. I just hate that they might be making her into an undeserved martyr. Her contract was up at the end of the year anyway, and there's no reason to keep playing her either, so the problem would've solved itself, IMO.

Then you have the situation where a lot of other star players are taking weeks off after losing at the Olympics. Embarrassing. They're supposed to grow the sport. For comparison's sake, Landon Donovan came back and played 3 days after losing in the 2002 World Cup, and many other guys within the same week. That's why MLS is what it is today. If you want to improve your pay and prestige of women's soccer, you have to put in the work, ladies.

Landon Donovan is unretiring, returning the LA Galaxy.

Wish it also meant he'd return to the national team (especially now that Dempsey is gone due to his heart thing), but I'm pretty sure that's a no as long as Klinsi's coaching.

Supposedly Jurgen and he cleared the air before one of the Copa matches. This might be an indication the reconciliation was genuine.

Not sure the US needs him, though. Pulisic and Wood look like the genuine article and Altidore is on the upswing again.
