Default ECF: Tampa @ Boston Game 5 series tied 2-2

Boucher-"It's 0-0 going into Boston"

Roli will be starting and Downie is questionable.

Coverage starts at 7pm on Versus.

Would like to see the whole clip myself, I hope he isn't making a guarantee.

Given the wild turns in this series, Thomas was asked if he had a sense of how the series would turn out.

"Yeah," he said with a smile at the end of a scrum in front of his locker, "we're going to win."

Not a bad article really, as it points out that now that he's said this, he needs to step up his own play.

Of course he has to say they're gona win so Boston's "fans" will still support them. And, why are Boucher's quotes always so yoda-like"? I swear he's a Wise Old Man trapped in a young guys body

Looks like we're going against a confident Tim Thomas, but what about the rest of his team?
Guess that's up to Game 5

With the best-of-seven series tied entering tonight's Game 5 at the TD Garden, Bruins G Tim Thomas guaranteed his team would advance in the end.

"We're going to win," Thomas told the Boston Herald on Saturday.

Those words weren't lost on the Lightning. The story with Thomas' quote was posted in its locker room Sunday.

"We might as well stay home," coach Guy Boucher quipped. "It's going to cost us a lot less money. And we can go home and get some sleep and watch some movies.

"Their people are allowed to think what they think, and we're not going to pay attention to that. Hopefully, our players are staying focused."
Timmy is focused on the future but Master Jedi Guy says "not at the expense of the moment."

I hope Thomas knows about the last time someone made a guarantee vs. the Bolts.

Well, yeah. I doubt very much Horton is capable of reading a book.

I don't know what would possess Thomas to make a guarantee after the Ovech-con man burst into flames after two guarantees against the Lightning in the last round. I mean, Timmy keeps giving the Lightning bulletin board material and he's not playing that well to be in a position to act the way he has acted. To say he had an easy game after Game 3, I actually think the Lightning had to stretch a little to make that something to get fired up about. But to be laughing after the first goal in Game 4 and then make a guarantee after you choke away a 3-0 lead? This is a college educated, worldly guy who has played overseas. What the hell is he smoking?

This is the same kind of non-story as when the Atlanta Hawks and their fans got upset at Jameer Nelson for telling Derrick Rose "see you in the second round."

What are these athletes supposed to say? We're going to lose??

Like i said, i guess he made that guarantee to keep the "fans" watching. I'm sure we'll see some empty seats at the TD Garden tonight

No, not at all. But he really should not guarantee to win, especially after a sub-par series from him. Now he really needs to back it up.

Or he could just go with the Lightnings mentality.. be modest, go out there and play hard...
