I don't think It'll happen in Buffalo. The problem isn't always the GM/Coaching.
True, but the last thing you want is a player who accepts he will never be that level. And even if you know he can't be, you really shouldn't talk about how you are disappointed in who you had to select for the face of the franchise. I actually don't remember/never heard that statement, really puts it in a bit of context for me.

No, he isn't on the same level as McDavid, but he was always considered a future face of whoever's franchise drafted him. Murray acted publicly like getting stuck with the #2 pick (which everyone knew would be Eichel) was some horrible consolation prize when in reality, he was still getting a top level player. I'm just saying, that would have rubbed me the wrong way if I were in Eichel's shoes.

The Canucks have lost one of their top young defensemen, Nikita Tryamkin, to the KHL.

Too bad Tim Murray is out of work. He was a wheeler-dealer.

Victor Hedman has been named a finalist for the Norris Trophy. He'll probably finish third behind Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson, but being called the third-best defenseman in the league is an honor.

I don't take either of those two given the choice of Victor Hedman. That's a fact. I take Karlsson over Burns too.

There is just something that really bothers me having burns win DEFENSEman of the year. From what I have seen/heard, they don't play him against the other teams top forwards. So he really is ust a forward playing on the back end.
